How I Fell in Love with Filming Weddings

When my wife and I had a film made for our wedding, it quickly became one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Every year on our anniversary, we watch it together, reliving every laugh, tear, and dance move from that unforgettable day. It’s a treasure that continues to bring us joy and reminds us of the magic of our wedding.

That experience truly opened my eyes to how priceless these moments are, and how important it is to preserve them. As someone who’s lived through the power of a wedding film, I consider it a privilege to capture your big day. I know firsthand how much it means to have these memories—ones that you and your family will cherish for generations.


MEET CHRIS / GET TO KNOW ME /

Photography has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until I started working alongside photographers at weddings that I realized I could take it further professionally. Expanding into family portraits felt like a natural step—especially with my love for photographing my daughters and niece.

The inspiration to pursue photography is deeply personal. My grandfather, a professional photographer, passed away during COVID, and I never had the chance to learn from him. I often wish I’d discovered my passion for the craft sooner, so he could have guided me.

Now, I honor his legacy through my work. His camera gear sits proudly in my office, reminding me daily of the standard he set and the inspiration he continues to provide. My goal is to not only diversify my business but to carry forward the Dickerson name and make him proud in the process.

What I enjoy most about weddings is the energy. There's such a buzz on the day, and it’s a joy to capture. While I’m not overly sentimental, I’ve found myself moved by those quiet, authentic moments—like the bride and groom’s private exchange or a dad getting emotional with his daughter. These moments remind me why I do what I do: capturing real, genuine love.
